Pastor Bob Hallman teaches on the book of Acts. This series of audio messages were given at Crossroads Christian Fellowship Kauai in 2005. The first of the series (Acts 1:1-12) is unavailable.
Incarnation -- Part I: The gracious voluntary act of the Son of God in taking up residence in human flesh. This is the primary focus of Luke’s first volume -- the Gospel of Luke.
Incarnation -- Part II: The gracious voluntary act of the Holy Spirit in taking up residence in human flesh. In 2 Corinthians 4:7 Paul puts it in the vernacular of his day:
2 Cor 4:7 “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
This is the primary focus of author Luke’s second volume -- the Book of Acts. It is the continuation of what Jesus began to do and to teach. In other words, in Luke’s gospel, Jesus carried out His ministry in his physical body of flesh. While in the book of Acts, Jesus he is doing it through the bodies of men and women who are indwelt by his life. So, whether in the Gospels or in Acts, incarnation is the secret strategy by which God changes the world.
