18. Believers Confidence (Romans 8:28-39)

We Can be Confident in God’s Sovereignty
A. We know that in all things God works for the good [Verse 28a]
Work together = Sunergeo = “To co-operate”
It is the root from which we derive our English word, “Synergism”; The simultaneous 
the action of separate forces which, when combined, have a greater total effect than the sum of the individual parts.

Application:
It is often difficult for us to believe the simplicity of this verse. If we did, we would gently and gracefully rest in God’s promise during times of crisis and uncertainty. 
But we often don’t. We believe that God makes some things, maybe even most things to work out for the good of believers. But “ALL THINGS?!” However, this does not mean that everything will turn out like we would like it to in this life. 

No matter what happens in our lives, God will use everything for our ultimate good. 
Sometimes He will protect us from tragedy and sometimes He will allow us to go through it in order to mature us and draw us closer to Him.
