5-Unleashing the Gospel | 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5

With chapter 3 Paul begins to bring this epistle to a close, but in doing so, we are privileged to see a wonderful model as Paul demonstrates how his team’s confidence lay not in human plans, promotion, programs, or human personalities, but in the Lord Himself.
And the two most potent weapons he has issued to us as His followers are the Word of God (specifically the Gospel of Jesus Christ) and prayer! 
In this brief passage, Paul appeals to the church to faithfully utilize both for the glory of God!
 Romans 1:16 tells us that “the gospel is the power of God [Dunamis] for the salvation of everyone who believers. Again, in 1 Cor 1:18 Paul states, “the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."

4- Stand Firm |2 Thessalonians 2:3-17

In this portion of scripture, we're seeing people go through some very costly suffering as a result of following Christ and these were the early days of some outpourings of persecutions that would continue to grow in the church in the uh centuries to come.
The church is also facing in addition to that, false teaching from within and they're confused about a number of things. Then to top everything else off, they're looking forward to this hope that Paul talked about, this eternity and glory, the promises of the inheritance of Christ and all the things that come with ruling and reigning with Christ but because of the brevity of his initial visit they don't have a handle on that.

3-The Coming of the Anti-Christ |2 Thessalonians 2:1-12

Paul is writing to refute the false teaching, to assure them that the great day of tribulation had not arrived, and to give them clear instruction about the signs that will precede this great day and the second coming of Jesus Christ.
So for us, this is just an awesome text because it helps us to understand the sequence of events in scripture as it relates to the end times, and it also gives us hope and encouragement as believers that God is going to be faithful to us.
Even though we are struggling and have problems in our lives on a regular basis, we will not be going through the great day, this terrible time of Gods wrath that is going to be coming upon the world.

1- Introduction to 2 Thessalonians

Paul wrote 1 Thessalonians to praise and encourage the newly birthed church in the midst of their suffering and to clarify that those who had died in Christ since Paul’s last visit would most definitely be a part of the much-anticipated rapture of the church.
But now some further concerns had come to the Apostle Paul’s attention:
There was still a great deal of confusion in the church about the coming of the Lord. 
Some were teaching that Christ had already come and that the church was already in the Great Tribulation.  Their present sufferings/persecution seemed to validate this!
These false teachers had generated a forged letter with Paul’s signature on it with the objective of discrediting Paul and undermining the believers’ confidence!
In response, Paul writes 2 Thessalonians to straighten out these misunderstandings!

6- Instructions for Godly Living (I Thess. 4:1-12)

"Sometimes you may wonder if God is listening. You've been wondering, you've been praying, and you've been distressed. and God hasn't answered. It hasn't been adjudicated; it hasn't been resolved. The answer hasn't come, the delivery has not yet occurred, and you are wondering to yourself is God even listening. Does God Care. What I want to tell you is that Jesus Christ in this text made a 40-mile journey on foot to meet this woman and deliver her daughter from demon possession because that's all the ministry he did in Tyre and Sidon that we are aware of. He came for this woman God cares about our problems and he cares about our needs. There's a reason why there is a delay so frequently in our prayer answers or the answer to our prayer. 5-The Importance of Follow-Up (I Thess. 3:1-13)

Concern for Their Faith 3 Therefore, when we could no longer endure it, we thought it good to be left in Athens alone, 2 and sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and encourage you concerning your faith, 3 that no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this. 4 For, in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and you know. 5 For this reason, when I could no longer endure it, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor might be in vain. Encouraged by Timothy 6 But now that Timothy has come to us from you and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always have good remembrance of us, greatly desiring to see us, as we also to see you— 7 therefore, brethren, in all our affliction and distress we were comforted concerning you by your faith. 8 For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord. 9 For what thanks can we render to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sake before our God, 10 night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face and perfect what is lacking in your faith? Prayer for the Church 11 Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you. 12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, 13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

4-The Priorities of the Kingdom (I Thess. 2:13-20)

It is important to hear the word of God. The bible tells us in a number of places how important it is to hear the Word of God. The Word of God is heard through the preaching and teaching of the Bible and through the reading of the Bible. That hearing is a critical part of coming to Christ in the first place. The Gospel actually has to be heard, somebody has to speak it out loud and actually communicate it. That's why you are so important and why God is using you as you are speaking up and you are telling people about Jesus Christ and the difference He can make in their life. People are listening. They might not always agree with you, but they are hearing it and the Thessalonian church are no different.

3-Paul: A Model for Ministry (I Thessalonians 2:1-12)

In chapter 2, Paul is defending his ministry. If you are a leader of any kind, comes with the territory is accusations. Maybe you are a parent, or you work in a business, or in ministry, no matter what it is, you are going to have people that doubt and question, on occasion, your character and your integrity. 00:7:20 One of the things I found over the years that I didn't realize, nobody actually told me when I was a young pastor, how important Character is. I mean it seems like it would be so obvious, but you never know how important the building blocks of consistent character over many, many, years, how important that is until you face your first false accusation. That character helps you to stand. That consistency and that reputation helps you to absorb those kinds of accusations. In the ends, those things are the things that cause people to look back and that is exactly what Paul is going to point to in this text.

2-The Evidence of New Life (1 Thess 1:4-10)

1 & 2 Thessalonians, a letter to the church, explaining the truths of the 2nd coming of Christ, The rapture of the Church and end times!
You have been chosen by God... and the Bible says the Gospel needs to be preached. Paul says in Romans 10 "14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who [b]preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”
We just need to tell people, we just need to let them know, give them a chance at life eternal
