In this profound episode of The Epic Life with Pastor Bob Hallman, we dive into the significance of Jesus declaring Himself as the “Light of the World”. Drawing insights from the Gospel of John, we examine the deep implications this has on our journey as Christ followers.
Venturing into the heart of Jewish culture, we explore their rich understanding of Jesus and the radiant beacon of light He offers. From the wilderness wanderings to the Feast of Tabernacles, we unpack the foundational context of Jesus' claims about Himself, contrasting these with instances of denial, disbelief and sin.
As we ponder the role of Christ as the divine light, we reflect on our individual choices to follow or abandon this beacon. We confront the Greek understanding of darkness, and the liberation Christ offers from such intellectual, moral, and ethical deceit. From scriptures such as Isaiah 50:10, we find reassurances of God's unwavering faithfulness, pushing us towards trusting in Him.
We further delve into the validity of Jesus' testimony and the powerful affirmations He received, which solidify His divine lineage. From His patience and long-suffering to His hard-hitting revelations about the consequences of rejecting salvation, we explore the complex facets of His divine nature.
As we conclude, we emphasize the choice to follow Christ's path of righteousness or succumb to a life of sin. This episode aims to inspire a life of fellowship and purity, free from guilt and filled with the righteousness of Christ. Tune in to understand the power of living a life fully committed to Christ, and the glorious destiny that awaits those who trust in Him.

14. Are You Thirsty? (John 7:25-52)
Wednesday Jan 24, 2024
Wednesday Jan 24, 2024
On the last day, the greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me," as the Scripture has said, "streams of living water will flow from within him."
By this, he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time, the Spirit had not been given since Jesus was born. had not yet been glorified. On hearing His word, some of the people said, "Surely this man is the prophet." Others said, "He is the Christ." Still others asked, "How can Christ come from Galilee?" Does not the scripture say that Christ will come from David's family and from Bethlehem.

So the character of a witness is really crucial whenever you're presenting evidence and that's exactly what Jesus is going to do. He's going to present evidence for his deity and his equality with God. And so, the character of the witness has to be above reproach trustworthy, honest, and believable.

You may feel like you're neutral, but God doesn't accept neutrality. Either you're for him or you are against him. Either you have received him or you are at enmity with him. The Bible says that it was just one sin that kept Adam and Eve out of fellowship with God, and it wasn't one of the seven deadly sins. They ate a piece of fruit that they were commanded not to eat.
